Job Description:
Litigation & Transactional Legal Assistant (Floater) Our client is seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team in a floater capacity , providing critical support across both litigation and transactional practices. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys variety in their work, and is eager to support attorneys on high-impact matters.
What You'll Do:
Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to attorneys across multiple practice areas Prepare, edit, format, and compare legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, and correspondence Manage court filings and assist with discovery processes Support transactional matters, including closing documents and binders Draft shells for pleadings and other legal filings Coordinate client onboarding, conflicts checks, and billing setup Enter and review attorney time entries and assist with billing compliance Maintain and organize matter files, databases, and records Coordinate travel arrangements and process expense reports Manage competing priorities and workflows to meet deadlines
What You Bring:
3+ years of professional experience (law firm or similar environment preferred) Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and legal software (e.g., NetDocs, InTapp, Chrome River) Excellent organizational, communication, and proofreading skills Ability to support multiple attorneys and manage shifting priorities Understanding of legal terminology and processes (litigation experience strongly preferred) Professional, adaptable, and proactive mindset with a willingness to learn Why This Role?
