Job Description

We are looking for a Legal Secretary to undertake a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. You will work under the supervision of an attorney and will also provide support in assigned legal cases. The goal is to sustain efficiency of all office procedures and case management so as to guarantee reliability and consistency.
Specific duties:
Providing prospective clients intake forms for appointments; Answering and routing incoming calls on a multi-line telephone system; Scheduling appointments, court dates, and other events on attorney calendars; Scanning, photocopying, filing, and mailing documents, and creating files and file labels; Walking across the street to the courthouse to file pleadings and other legal documents, and retrieving documents placed in our courthouse mailbox or obtaining copies of other documents as needed from the courthouse records; Drafting correspondence and legal pleadings from forms; and, Entering client data in officewide system.
