Summer Legal Intern Estate & Elder Law Firm, Watchung, NJ Are you looking to gain work experience in a law firm and get your legal career started this summer? If so, we invite you to join our team at our firm specializing in estate and elder law as an
UNPAID INTERNSHIP
during the summer school months. We are a mighty law firm with over two-and-a-half decades of experience in Estate Planning & Elder Care, delivering service to its' client base. We are s eeking to hire two high school and two college student wanting to gain legal work experience and get their legal career started. Our firm's mission is to provide our clients with peace of mind if a death or dying crisis occurs. We aim to provide service that will be enforceable, and fierce advocacy for the vulnerable elderly and others. This position directly reports to the Client Intake Supervisor and/or Senior Paralegal.
Duties:
The interns supports attorneys, paralegals and other staff members in client and administration matters within the Firm. The tasks will vary and can include utilizing templates, coordinating file maintenance, witnessing signing ceremonies, creating file labels, running reports, answering phones, etc.
Skills Requirements:
Ability to prioritize, calendar deadlines, organize workload, adhere to processes and take initiative to assist the attorneys. Have good computer skills and maintain physical files. Assist with answering phones, scanning and organizing incoming and outgoing mail, and filing documents; conducting internet and legal research; reviewing written documents and emails for typographical consistency, grammar, and spelling; entering data into a database or computer software. Professional and empathetic phone manners with clients, the public, other professionals, and the court . Assist with video tapings for podcasts. Work with Social Media Coordinator in creating media content. Assist with legal and admin projects. And so much more!
