Job Description

  • Overview:
  • We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Legal Secretary to join our dynamic legal team.
The ideal candidate will provide exceptional administrative support to our attorneys, ensuring seamless operations within the firm. The successful applicant will have experience in legal drafting, legal research, and workers compensation law. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to work closely with experienced lawyers and contribute to the growth of our practice.
  • Duties:
  • Provide executive-level administrative support to our attorneys, including preparing and reviewing legal documents, correspondence, and contracts.
  • Conduct legal research and assist in drafting legal pleadings, briefs, and motions.
  • Assist in the preparation for depositions, trials, and other litigation-related matters.
  • Organize and maintain accurate records and files, ensuring confidentiality and security.
  • Interview clients, witnesses, and other parties to gather information and complete legal documentation.
  • Prepare and serve legal documents, such as summons, complaints, and subpoenas.
  • Manage the office's calendar, scheduling appointments, and ensuring timely communication with clients and colleagues.
  • Assist with estate planning, including drafting wills, trusts, and other related documents.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of our firm's legal practice and stay up-to-date with changes in workers compensation law and other relevant legal areas.
  • Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in an administrative capacity within a law firm or legal organization.
  • Strong understanding of legal procedures and terminology.
  • Proficiency in legal drafting and research.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Familiarity with estate planning and workers compensation law.
  • Experience with interviewing and interviewing techniques.
