Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Secretary to support a busy litigation team. The role focuses on managing case files, preparing and filing pleadings, coordinating discovery, and supporting attorneys through trial preparation. The ideal candidate has litigation experience, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with legal procedures and office technology.

Key ResponsibilitiesManage litigation dockets and court calendars, ensuring deadlines are met (motions, hearings, discovery cutoff dates).Prepare, edit, and format legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, motions, subpoenas, correspondence, and discovery responses.

Coordinate and manage discovery processes: assemble document productions, prepare privilege logs, coordinate document review, and manage correspondence with opposing counsel and vendors.

Provide administrative support to attorneys: schedule meetings and depositions, arrange travel, prepare trial binders and exhibits, and assist with witness communications.

Conduct basic legal research and gather case law, statutes, and evidence summaries to support case strategy.

Draft and proofread client communications, court forms, and billing entries; track time and assist with invoicing and expense reporting.

Serve as primary contact for clients, courts, and third parties, maintaining confidentiality and professional communication.

Maintain and update case management systems and databases; ensure accurate docketing and file notes.

Assist with trial logistics and on-site support, including exhibit preparation, witness coordination, and courtroom filings.

Qualifications2+ years of litigation experience as a legal assistant or legal secretary; experience in a law firm or litigation department required.

Proven knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, discovery processes, and document management.

Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, DocuSign, and document management systemsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong proofreading and legal formatting abilities.

Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

High degree of professionalism, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information.

Associate's degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent experience preferred.

Demonstrated experience with client communication, calendaring, docket management, and trial preparation.
