Compensation:
Up to $105,000 annually (DOE) About the Role We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Legal Assistant to support our Commercial Business Litigation practice in our Downtown San Diego office. This is a newly created position due to continued growth and presents an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative litigation team handling complex, high-stakes matters. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, and brings strong experience supporting multiple attorneys within a mid-size to large law firm setting. Key Responsibilities Draft, format, proofread, and finalize legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery materials Electronically file documents with state and federal courts in compliance with applicable rules and deadlines Manage complex attorney calendars, including court appearances, depositions, client meetings, and deadlines Coordinate and confirm scheduling with clients, witnesses, court reporters, and opposing counsel Serve as a professional point of contact for clients, court personnel, and external partners Respond to inquiries, screen communications, and relay messages to attorneys in a timely manner Monitor deadlines and proactively follow up on outstanding tasks to ensure timely completion Prepare expense reports and assist with billing-related documentation Maintain organized case files and utilize document management systems effectively (e.g., iManage) Provide additional administrative and litigation support as needed Required Qualifications Minimum 5+ years of litigation experience, preferably in Commercial Business Litigation Prior experience supporting multiple attorneys in a mid-size or large (Big Law) firm environment Bilingual in Spanish (required) Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Experience with legal document management systems (e.g., iManage) Solid understanding of legal terminology, court procedures, and litigation workflows Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree strongly preferred Experience working in high-volume, complex litigation environments Work Environment Hybrid schedule with up to four remote workdays per month (subject to change) Remaining days are onsite in a collaborative, professional Downtown San Diego office Overtime may be required based on case demands and deadlines All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
