This position is responsible for the accurate and timely billing of services, ensuring compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and other payer requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent customer service abilities, and experience in healthcare billing and collections.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, and submit claims to Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance carriers, and other third-party payers. Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility. Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid, denied, or underpaid claims. Research and resolve billing discrepancies and claim denials. Communicate professionally with residents, families, insurance companies, and government agencies regarding billing inquiries. Maintain accurate billing records and documentation in accordance with federal and state regulations. Assistwith month-end reporting and reconciliation activities. Stay current with changes in Medicare, Medicaid, and payer regulations. Collaborate with administration and clinical staff to ensure accurate billing information.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in business, accounting, healthcare administration, or related field preferred. Minimum of 1-2 years of healthcare billing experience preferred. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care plans, and insurance billing processes. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and billing software. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
