Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Cycle Revenue Specialist-Medical Collections to join our dynamic healthcare revenue cycle team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the collection process for medical accounts, ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement from insurance providers and patients. Your expertise will help optimize revenue flow while maintaining positive relationships with payers and patients alike. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your medical billing, coding, and collections skills in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence and efficiency. Responsibilities Review and analyze denied medical claims, including DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10, and ICD coding. Follow up on unpaid or underpaid claims by communicating with insurance companies, patients, and other payers to resolve discrepancies or denials. Manage accounts receivable cycles by prioritizing high-value or aged claims for prompt collection efforts. Collaborate with medical office staff to verify patient information, insurance details, and documentation accuracy within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems. Maintain detailed records of collection activities, correspondence, and adjustments related to each account. Stay current with industry regulations, coding updates, and payer policies to ensure compliance and maximize reimbursement opportunities. Experience Proven experience of minimum 5 years in medical billing, collections, or revenue cycle management within a healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and coding systems including
DRG, CPT
coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards. Familiarity with medical office operations and experience working with EMR/EHR systems is highly preferred. Excellent communication skills for effective interactions with insurance companies, patients, and internal teams. Ability to interpret complex medical documentation and translate it into accurate billing codes. Prior experience handling medical collections with a focus on improving cash flow while maintaining professional relationships is advantageous.
