Full Job Description Overview:
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Biller, where your expertise will drive the financial health of our medical practice. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately processing and submitting claims, managing patient accounts, and ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance companies. Your attention to detail and knowledge of medical coding and billing procedures will contribute to smooth operations and exceptional patient service. This position offers an engaging environment where your skills directly impact the efficiency and success of our healthcare services.
Duties:
Answer incoming phone calls from patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers. Submit medical claims accurately and in a timely manner. Post insurance and patient payments into the billing system. Follow up on unpaid, denied, or outstanding insurance claims. Review claims for accuracy and resolve billing discrepancies. Verify patient insurance information when needed. Maintain accurate patient billing records. Communicate professionally with patients regarding billing questions. Work with providers and staff to resolve claim and payment issues.
Qualifications:
Required:
Previous experience in medical billing. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize workload. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Strongly Preferred:
Experience using one or more medical billing software platforms, including: Office Ally, EZDerm, Nextech, ModMed(EMA) Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding. Familiarity with commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medi-Cal billing processes.
