Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of medical billing processes, coding systems, and insurance procedures. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately processing claims, managing accounts receivable, and ensuring timely reimbursement while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Responsibilities Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using appropriate coding systems such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes. Review medical records and documentation to ensure proper coding for diagnoses, procedures, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective communication with insurance companies and patients. Maintain detailed records of billing activities within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Ensure compliance with medical coding standards, billing policies, and healthcare regulations to prevent errors or fraud. Collaborate with clinical staff to verify medical records accuracy and completeness for billing purposes. Manage accounts receivable by tracking outstanding balances and initiating collection efforts when necessary. Requirements Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or related healthcare administrative roles. Strong knowledge of
DRG, CPT
coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and medical terminology. Familiarity with medical records management and documentation practices. Experience working with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems. Excellent understanding of medical billing procedures including insurance claims processing and collections. Knowledge of medical coding standards and compliance regulations to ensure accurate billing practices. Prior experience in a medical office environment is preferred; familiarity with urology-specific procedures is a plus.
