Job Description

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and maintaining medical records. This role is crucial in facilitating the financial operations of our medical office while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Duties Review and verify patient information and insurance coverage. Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems. Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement. Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve discrepancies with payers. Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any billing issues or discrepancies. Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices. Provide support for audits and assist in the training of new staff on billing procedures. Requirements Proficiency in medical terminology, systems, and medical billing processes. Experience with medical records management and coding (ICD-9, ICD-10). Familiarity with Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG) coding is a plus. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred but not mandatory. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
