The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate posting of payments and adjustments to patient accounts. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding, and the ability to work with various systems related to medical records and collections. Duties Accurately post payments received from insurance companies and patients to the appropriate accounts. Review and reconcile payment discrepancies, ensuring all transactions are correctly documented. Collaborate with the medical collection team to resolve outstanding balances and ensure timely payment. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) classifications and their impact on billing. Understanding of Explanation of Reviews from payers Understands the concept of coinsurance, deductibles, in/out of network claims and Medicare Communicate effectively with patients regarding their accounts, providing clear explanations of charges and payments. Requirements Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, with a focus on payment posting or medical collections. Strong understanding of medical terminology and procedure codes, modifiers, and bundling. Familiarity with various healthcare systems used for billing and record management. Excellent attention to detail, with strong analytical skills for problem-solving discrepancies. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with patients and healthcare professionals. Experience in Advanced MD EHR is a PLUS!
