• Review and analyze medical documentation to ensure accurate and timely billing
• Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG) to diagnoses and procedures
• Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations
• Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on unpaid or denied claims
• Process payments from insurance companies and patients
• Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and office staff to resolve billing issues
• Stay up-to-date with changes in medical coding regulations and reimbursement guidelines ```Qualifications```
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Medical Billing or related field preferred
• Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures
• Proficient in using medical billing software and electronic health record systems
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
