In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the administrative intake process for wound care patients, ensuring referrals, insurance verification, scheduling, and documentation are completed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be the primary point of contact for new wound care referrals and will work closely with providers, medical assistants, facilities, insurance companies, and patients to ensure timely access to care and a seamless patient experience. Key Responsibilities Manage the intake process for all new wound care patients. Review incoming referrals and obtain necessary documentation. Collect and verify patient demographic, insurance, and medical information. Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and prior authorizations for wound care services. Follow up on pending referrals and insurance authorizations to ensure timely approval. Maintain and update the wound care patient roster. Ensure all wound patients are approved and scheduled promptly. Coordinate scheduling for new and established wound care patients. Upload and accurately label wound photographs in eClinicalWorks. Maintain accurate patient records using eClinicalWorks. Complete monthly wound follow-up calls with patients. Communicate with providers, medical assistants, facilities, referral sources, and insurance companies regarding patient care. Answer incoming phone calls related to wound care patients and referrals. Assist with medical records requests and other administrative duties as assigned. Other administrative tasks Required Qualifications Prior experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is required. Experience with electronic medical records (eClinicalWorks preferred). Experience with insurance verification, eligibility, referrals, and prior authorizations. Strong organizational and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail. Knowledge of medical terminology. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service skills and professionalism. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in wound care, home health, primary care, or another specialty medical practice. Experience working with Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans. Experience coordinating care with assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and home health agencies. Why Join Bliss Specialty Healthcare?
