Job Description

Amesbury Dental Associates is seeking an experienced, professional, and confident Dental Administrator with a strong background in Accounts Receivable and Dental Insurance Management to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who enjoys problem-solving, working with insurance companies, and helping patients understand their financial responsibilities while providing exceptional customer service. Position Responsibilities Manage and follow up on outstanding insurance claims and patient balances Investigate and resolve claim denials, underpayments, and aging accounts receivable Verify dental insurance benefits and eligibility Prepare and submit insurance claims and supporting documentation Communicate effectively with insurance carriers regarding claim status and reimbursement Discuss treatment costs, payment options, and financial arrangements with patients Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances with professionalism and confidence Generate and review patient statements and collection reports Maintain accurate patient account records within Open Dental Support front desk operations including scheduling, patient communication, and check-in/check-out procedures Work closely with providers and team members to ensure financial accuracy and patient satisfaction Qualifications Minimum 3 years of dental administrative experience required Strong understanding of dental insurance plans, claims processing, EOBs, and insurance terminology Proven experience in accounts receivable management and collections Comfortable discussing finances and requesting payment from patients Ability to manage difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy Experience with Open Dental software preferred Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: Confident discussing money and collecting balances Persistent and detail-oriented when following up on insurance claims Comfortable analyzing account discrepancies and finding solutions Friendly, professional, and patient-focused Able to balance excellent customer service with strong financial accountability Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Health insurance 401(k) with company match Paid holidays Paid time off Sick time In-house dental benefits Supportive and team-oriented work environment Schedule Full-Time Monday-Friday To Apply Please submit your resume and a brief description of your dental administrative and accounts receivable experience.
