Job Description

Senior Medical Biller - Specialty Practice (Growth Opportunity) A growing specialty medical practice with multiple locations in Massachusetts is seeking a senior-level Medical Biller to oversee and manage complex billing functions. This position is designed for an experienced biller who can work independently, handle advanced problem-solving, and serve as a key resource within the billing department. For the right candidate, there is potential to grow into a Billing Manager role . This is a fully in-office position (not remote).
Responsibilities include:
Reviewing and submitting claims with precise coding (ICD-10, CPT, modifiers) in accordance with carrier-specific requirements. Leading denial management and appeals, focusing on reducing A/R and achieving established benchmarks. Reconciling and posting insurance and patient payments; coordinating with finance for accurate month-end reporting. Generating and managing patient statements, responding to complex billing inquiries, and overseeing accounts sent to collections. Monitoring billing workflows, identifying process improvements, and ensuring compliance with payer regulations. Assisting leadership with billing reports, trend analysis, and strategy to meet monthly and annual financial goals. Providing guidance to junior billing staff as needed.
Qualifications:
5+ years of medical billing experience , with at least 2 years in a specialty practice or complex billing environment. Strong knowledge of coding, reimbursement methodologies, insurance requirements, and A/R management. Proven expertise in denial resolution and appeals. Ability to manage priorities independently, solve complex billing issues, and support leadership in decision-making. Proficiency with practice management/EHR systems. Excellent communication skills and a professional, collaborative approach.
Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience. Specialty billing experience strongly preferred. Growth opportunity into Billing Manager role for the right candidate.
