Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Dental Insurance Coordinator to join our dynamic dental practice team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary liaison between patients, insurance companies, and the office staff to ensure smooth and efficient processing of dental insurance claims and eligibility/verifications. Your expertise will help maximize insurance benefits for patients while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a patient-centered environment where accuracy, communication, and professionalism are paramount. Duties Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to appointments, ensuring all necessary information is accurate and up-to-date Review and process dental insurance claims using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems for accurate medical record documentation Communicate effectively with insurance providers to resolve claim issues, denials, or discrepancies in a timely manner Assist patients with understanding their dental insurance plans, coverage limits, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses Maintain detailed records of insurance verifications, claims submissions, and follow-up activities in the office management system Collaborate with the dental team to ensure accurate billing practices aligned with medical terminology and coding standards Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient medical records and sensitive information Experience Previous experience in a dental office setting is highly preferred, especially in insurance verification or billing roles Strong knowledge of managed care processes and dental insurance procedures Familiarity with HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security Experience with CPT and dental coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems for accurate documentation and billing Proficiency in dental terminology, dental records management, and dental coding practices Excellent communication skills for liaising with insurance companies and explaining coverage details to patients Dental office experience demonstrating organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment Join us in delivering exceptional care by ensuring our patients receive the maximum benefits from their dental insurance plans!
