The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems, including ICD-9 and ICD-10. As a Medical Biller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate billing processes, managing medical records, and facilitating collections for services rendered. This position requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical office environment. Responsibilities Process and submit medical billing claims accurately and in a timely manner. Review patient records to ensure all necessary documentation is complete for billing. Utilize coding systems such as ICD-9 and ICD-10 for accurate claim submissions. Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid claims and conducting medical collections as needed. Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies or issues. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, billing regulations, and compliance requirements. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate coding and documentation of services. Keep detailed records of all billing activities and maintain confidentiality of patient information. Experience Proven experience in medical billing or related field is preferred. Familiarity with DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding is advantageous. Strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures. Experience with medical coding systems and electronic health record (EHR) systems is essential. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
