Job Summary Medical Billing & Credentialling, Insurance panelling -- Complete Revenue Cycle Management We are seeking an experienced and dedicated and detail-oriented Counseling and Mental Health Medical Biller to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately processing billing and coding for mental health and counseling services, ensuring timely reimbursement and compliance with healthcare regulations. Your expertise will support the financial health of our practice while providing exceptional service to our patients and providers. This position offers an engaging opportunity to utilize your medical billing skills in a fast-paced, rewarding environment committed to mental health care excellence. Duties Review and interpret clinical documentation related to counseling and mental health services to assign appropriate CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, including DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications where applicable. Utilize ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to ensure precise diagnosis coding on all claims, maintaining compliance with current coding standards. Prepare, submit, and follow up on insurance claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to maximize reimbursement efficiency. Manage medical collections by following up on unpaid or denied claims, resolving discrepancies, and communicating with insurance providers effectively. Maintain accurate medical records, including detailed documentation of billing activities, coding adjustments, and patient interactions. Stay updated on evolving healthcare regulations, insurance policies, and coding guidelines to ensure ongoing compliance. Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify documentation requirements and resolve billing issues promptly. Experience Proven experience in medical billing within a community based mental health or counseling setting is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of medical coding principles, including
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG
classifications, and ICD coding standards. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and insurance claim processes. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for billing purposes is essential. Demonstrated ability to handle medical collections efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service skills. Prior background in medical office administration or healthcare finance is advantageous. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to changing healthcare regulations. $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
