In this energetic position, you will be responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, confirming benefits, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Your proactive approach will help facilitate seamless billing processes, reduce claim denials, and enhance patient satisfaction. Responsibilities Verify patient insurance coverage by contacting insurance companies and reviewing electronic or paper records Confirm patient eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements prior to service delivery Accurately input and update insurance information in the records system while maintaining HIPAA compliance Collaborate with office staff to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to insurance claims Review documentation, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, ICD (International Classification of Diseases) codes such as ICD-9 and ICD-10, and medical records for accuracy Assist in managing managed care plans and understanding specific policy requirements for various insurance providers Maintain detailed logs of verification activities and communicate effectively with patients regarding their coverage details Qualifications Prior experience in a behavioral health office setting or medical office environment is highly preferred Strong knowledge of managed care processes, medical terminology, and medical coding including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and data security Experience with insurance verification procedures and handling medical records Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Office experience combined with strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, providers, and insurance representatives Join us to be part of a dedicated team that values accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional patient care.
