Job Description Medical Biller Responsibilities Accurately prepare and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients. Review patient records and care plans to ensure all services rendered are captured correctly. Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies regarding billing inquiries and discrepancies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing codes and regulations to ensure compliance. Collaborate with the healthcare team to resolve any billing issues or disputes promptly. Provide leadership within the billing department by mentoring junior staff and fostering a collaborative work environment. Generate reports on billing activities, outstanding claims, and revenue cycle performance. Experience Minimum 1 year of experience in ABA medical billing (preferred) Familiarity with payer portals and ABA billing software (e.g., CentralReach, AccuPoint, Kareo, OfficeAlly) Understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and modifier usage Knowledge of Medi-Cal, MHN, and regional centers is a plus Must be a team player and willing to assist employees and patients when they have billing related questions. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and written. Spanish speakers are highly desirable. Excellent customer service and phone etiquette skills. Able to prioritize and balance workload on short and long-term needs. Must be able to work independently and be able to solve problems efficiently and accurately. Familiarity with EMR systems is desirable. Prior experience using EclinicalWorks is highly desirable. Fast learner and self-starter. Education and Certification Bachelor's Degree required (Master's Degree preferred). Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical field/accounting/accounts receivable.
