Well Life Medicine is seeking an experienced full-time Medical Biller to join our growing billing team. This would be our fourth biller, you would work with a collaborative team. Well Life Medicine is an independent primary care and mental health clinic in Oregon with locations in Salem and Hillsboro, and a Woodburn location opening soon. Our team takes a collaborative, individualized approach to care, and we are looking for a dependable biller who can support that work through accurate, timely billing and excellent follow-through. This is a full-time hybrid position with a fixed schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM . Most work may be completed from home, with approximately one day per week in-office at our Salem, Hillsboro, or Woodburn location. We are looking for someone with at least one year of medical billing experience . Experience with workers' compensation claims, motor vehicle accident claims and athenahealth is strongly preferred. The Medical Biller will work closely with our lead biller and billing team to support accurate, timely billing and claims follow-up.

Responsibilities include:

Submitting and "dropping" claims accurately and on time Reviewing claims for accuracy before submission Adding appropriate modifiers when needed Reviewing CPT, ICD-10, and diagnosis coding for billing accuracy Correcting claim errors and resubmitting corrected claims Researching and resolving denied or rejected insurance claims Following up on unpaid or delayed claims Managing accounts receivable and aging reports Verifying patient insurance eligibility and benefits (including order of benefits) Reviewing patient coverage details, copays, deductibles, and plan limitations Communicating with insurance companies regarding claim status, benefits, denials, and payment issues Working payer portals and insurance billing systems Assisting with workers' compensation and motor vehicle accident claims Posting or assisting with insurance payments, patient payments, adjustments, and refunds Assisting with patient billing questions and account balances Supporting collections processes when appropriate Reviewing schedules for billing or eligibility issues Identifying missing information needed for claim submission Communicating with front desk, clinical staff, and providers regarding billing needs Maintaining accurate documentation of billing follow-up and claim activity Assisting with provider credentialing, payer enrollment, and CAQH updates as needed, preferred but not required Supporting other billing and administrative tasks as assigned
