In this role, you will be responsible for processing and managing insurance claims, verifying billing information, following up on unpaid claims, and assisting patients and staff with billing-related questions. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable communicating with insurance companies, physicians' offices, clinicians, and patients. Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care billing in a home health setting is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Process and submit medical claims for Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and managed care plans Review claims for accuracy, completeness, and compliance prior to submission Follow up on unpaid, denied, or rejected claims and assist with appeals and corrections as needed Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, authorizations, and billing requirements Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status, payment discrepancies, and authorization issues Work closely with clinicians, intake staff, physicians' offices, and hospitals to obtain required documentation and orders Post payments, adjustments, and denials accurately into the billing system Maintain accurate patient billing records and documentation Assist patients and families with billing questions and insurance-related concerns in a professional and compassionate manner Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collection efforts when appropriate Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations Support the administrative team with additional office and billing duties as assigned Qualifications Previous medical billing experience required; home health billing experience strongly preferred Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, EVV, PDGM, and managed care billing processes preferred Experience with EMR or billing software systems preferred Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and customer service abilities Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines Comfortable working independently and as part of a team Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards Schedule Full-Time or Part-Time Opportunities Available Monday-Friday In-Office Position with Potential for Hybrid Flexibility Based on Experience and Performance Flexible work from home options available.
