Medical Coder and Biller

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Coder and Biller to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately translating medical diagnoses, procedures, and services into standardized codes using systems such as ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and DRG. Your expertise will ensure precise billing processes, efficient claim submissions, and timely reimbursement. Responsibilities Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate ICD (International Classification of Diseases) and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes for diagnoses and procedures. Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, including ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG systems, to maximize reimbursement accuracy. Prepare and submit clean claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, maintaining thorough documentation throughout the process. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation discrepancies or ambiguities in medical records. Manage medical billing processes, including generating invoices, following up on unpaid claims, and performing medical collections when necessary. Maintain detailed records of coding activities and billing transactions for auditing purposes. Stay updated on changes in coding standards, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations to ensure ongoing compliance. Requirements Proven experience in medical coding and billing within a healthcare setting; familiarity with medical office operations is preferred. Strong knowledge of

ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT

coding systems, as well as DRG classifications. Experience with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and claim processing. Excellent understanding of medical terminology and medical records management. Ability to accurately interpret clinical documentation to assign appropriate codes in accordance with industry standards. Knowledge of medical collection procedures and insurance claim submission processes. Familiarity with medical billing software and coding tools is highly desirable.
