In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the billing process for medical services, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims, and maintaining clear communication with insurance companies and patients. Your expertise will help streamline revenue cycle management, improve cash flow, and support the overall financial health of our practice. Duties Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) coding systems Review medical records and documentation to ensure proper coding and billing compliance Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection strategies Verify patient insurance coverage and update electronic health record (EHR) or electronic medical record (EMR) systems accordingly Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to resolve billing issues promptly Maintain detailed records of all billing transactions, claim submissions, adjustments, and payments Stay current with changes in medical coding standards, billing regulations, and healthcare policies to ensure compliance Requirements Proven experience in medical billing or medical office administration with a strong understanding of medical terminology and records management Proficiency in medical coding including CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, DRG classification, and familiarity with EHR/EMR systems Knowledge of medical collection processes and insurance claim procedures Ability to interpret complex medical documentation accurately for billing purposes Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry Excellent communication skills for liaising with insurance providers, patients, and healthcare staff Prior experience working with medical billing software or billing platforms is highly preferred Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional healthcare administration!
