Description Are you a seasoned clerical assistant or do you have some experience in court procedures? Chatham County Juvenile Court seeks a Deputy Court Clerk I to join our team, offering an opportunity to utilize your expertise in routine clerical tasks, case file management, and public assistance within a legal setting. Examples of Duties Perform routine clerical work relating to the operation of courts. Examine, process, prepare, and maintain case files to include other legal documents such as complaints, petitions, subpoenas, summons, and court orders. Process payments, maintain a cash drawer, prepare monthly reports, and attend court. Assist the public by phone and in person. May be required to work after hours. Perform tasks under tight deadlines and stressful situations. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED, and At least two (2) years of general clerical experience, or One (1) year of experience in a court-related environment; or Any equivalent combination of training and experience. Must be able to type a minimum of 25 words per minute. Selected candidates will be required to complete keyboarding and clerical testing during the interview process. Must be bondable. During emergencies and disasters affecting Chatham County, you may be required to report to work as part of a disaster operations team. In accordance with the Department of Transportation, Commercial Driver's License (CDL) holders and those employed in safety-sensitive positions are subject to random drug testing. Candidates with direct and relevant experience may receive an offer of up to 10% above the minimum salary that is posted, reflecting their exceptional qualifications.
