Job Description

Position Summary Housing Assistant is responsible for working with the Occupancy Specialist and Management to ensure HUD regulations and SJCHS policies are compliant. Education Bachelors in Management
  • Preferred Experience 2-3 Years Office administration
  • Required 1-2 Years Certified Occupancy Specialist
  • Preferred License & Certification Professional Certification / COS
  • Preferred Core Job Functions Compiles information and verifies income, assets and medical expenses to compute rent for initial move-in/ move-out and for annual and interim recertification.
Meets with applicants/residents, inputs into HUD program, produces lease and multiple HUD required forms to complete move-in and explains HUD expectations and regulations. Examines new apartment for any defects, explains apartment features and property House Rules. Runs EIV reports according to HUD guidelines and timelines, and files EIV reports appropriately. Tracks EIV discrepancies and outcomes. Keeps resident information filed in established order in every file for auditors. Receives housing applications and enters eligible applicants into leasing software. Issues periodic annual assessments and application rejection letters per HUD requirements. Ensures all documentation is compliant with
HUD 4350
documentation for Management and Occupancy Reviews (MORs). Coordinates with management and maintenance to track upcoming vacancies and turnover status of vacant units, ensuring that potential applicants are processed and ready for move-in. Receives mail, delivers to appropriate co-workers. Scans incoming bills into billing software. Reviews and provides initial approval of payments. Adheres to all Federal/State regulations regarding handling of mail. Collects vending money, counts, verifies and completes deposit slips. Maintains resident cash box, petty cash box, and front desk change box.
