Please refer to the Benefits Information Sheet for additional details. Salary $45,965 per year PURPOSE Performs technical support work in the office of the Clerk of the Appellate Court. Positions are assigned tasks which support the activities of positions in higher classifications in one or more stages of the case processing workflow through the clerk's office or assigned specialized tasks. Employees work independently on regular and recurring tasks, and some interaction with the public is required. Work may also involve assisting a coworker with the duties of higher-level positions during heavy workload periods or to gain knowledge of all rules required to perform tasks at the higher level.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Receives and accurately processes incoming documents verifying correct case information; enters information and data into the Electronic Filing Manager (EFM) and case management system (CMS). Files electronic records on appeal and distributes them to counsel of record. Accurately enters and maintains docket information. Assists with processing of motions, orders, and monitoring of same. Communicates with circuit clerk and state agencies from various counties regarding court and case information. Reviews documents submitted by filers for conformance with court rules and procedure prior to acceptance. Assists the public and filers with procedural questions and filing procedure. Processes incoming and outgoing mail, in both paper and electronic formats. Uses word processing, spread sheet, database, or other applications to prepare correspondence and notices to counsel regarding the filing of documents and to maintain court records. Sorts and files cards, documents, correspondence and case files; prepares copies. Any one position may not include all duties listed, nor do the examples cover all the duteis which may be performed.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Individual must have a minimum of two years of experience, education, or training in a clerical capacity within a legal or other professional environment. Knowledge and skills required include excellent interpersonal skills, exceptional knowledge of personal computer applications, and possess outstanding organizational skills and be detail oriented. This is a professional office working environment requiring telephone usage and the ability to process written and electronic documents.
SELECTION FACTORS
Willingness to maintain positive and pleasant associations with both internal colleagues and the public. Ability to review documents for accuracy and compliance with court procedures. Ability to enter information accurately into the Electonic Filing Manager (EFM) and case management system (CMS). Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Teams, , Excel, Outlook, OneDrive), Adobe Acrobat Pro, Zoom products, and C-Track court management software is strongly preferred.
