Full-time General Statement of Duties:
The Deputy Juvenile Register I position is designed to handle the intake and orders of the Juvenile Court as well as general office functions. The position is centered on public service and will aid any and all clients with completing their court action at any time. Said position is presumed to be detail oriented, punctual, and reliable.

Work is performed under the general supervision of the Probate/Juvenile Court Director or designee.

None Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
An employee this class may be called upon to do any or all of the following: These examples do not include all of the tasks which an employee may be expected to perform . Use kind salutations to greet visitors Aid visitors in completing their court action for the day Use respectful language and seek assistance from supervisors if needed Answer the telephones and address the public's concerns as they are presented. Manage client and public correspondence via email, mail and telephone, i.e., notice of hearing, and order after hearing. Communicate information to both the Judge's office and the administrator, as well as parties involved with cases regarding orders, changes, and corrections. Prepare and review orders for accuracy and correctness for the judge or referee prior to court hearings. Accept documents coming into the Court through Law Enforcement, Attorneys, and parents. Cross-reference information upon intake with the Court's Files. Conduct case inventories and the proper cyclization of files. Create and manage electronic and hard copy files for clients and Court personnel. Accept financial Court payments. Aid administration in scheduling and calendar events. Avail him or herself to court staff and clientele regarding caseload and procedural questions. Facilitate appropriate hearings for the function of the court Complete any and all paper work pertaining to court operations. Enforce Michigan Court Rules for purposes of admitting or denying court filings. Participate in training and development objectives and opportunities. General office assistance Support all clerks and judicial assistants in general office functions and operations. Manage case files from creation to completion, install check lists, and established procedures to fulfill the purpose of the court according to MDL and MCR requirements. Prepare files, orders, and correspondence for current and future dockets for the judge and/or referee. Assist entities in fulfilling court orders and assisting with communication between themselves and the court. Prepare to fulfill other positions when needed, such as court reporter, secretarial positions, and assisting in courtroom set up. Qualifications :
An employee in this class, upon appointment should have the equivalent of the following training, qualifications and/or experience . Graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalent. One (1) year of experience in a court or court related setting. IBM/JIS experience is preferred. Computer skills are necessary to effectively utilize Microsoft Office and accounting software systems and the ability to be trained on a specific software program. Ability to pass a background check and consent to fingerprinting as required by
MCL 15.651-15.654.
Working Conditions and Physical Abilities:
Work is primarily indoors and requires sitting for extended periods Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds Must be able to hear and speak over the phone and in one-on-one communication needs. Must be able to see and notice the needs of clients. This position is public service oriented, as such, the employee may encounter challenging clients, unique scents, and difficult situations. To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
