Job Description

Overview Join our team as a Driving Skills Test Examiner certified by the State of Michigan, a vital role dedicated to ensuring safe and competent driving practices through thorough road testing. As a Driving Skills Test Examiner, you will evaluate prospective drivers' ability to operate a vehicle safely and confidently, helping to uphold high standards of road safety for the community. Duties Conduct comprehensive Michigan driving tests for applicants seeking their driver's license or permit, assessing their skills in various traffic situations. Explain testing procedures clearly and provide constructive feedback to test-takers to promote understanding and improvement. Verify applicant identification and ensure all testing requirements are met before administering the road test. Maintain accurate records of test results, including pass/fail status and any observed deficiencies or safety concerns. Enforce safety protocols throughout the testing process, ensuring both tester and applicant safety at all times. Coordinate scheduling of tests, manage appointments efficiently, and handle walk-in applicants with professionalism and courtesy. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure testing standards are consistently upheld and improved. Skills Proven experience in supervising or overseeing practical assessments, ideally in driving instruction or standardized testing environments. Strong teaching abilities with the capacity to communicate instructions clearly and effectively to diverse audiences. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple appointments, recordkeeping, and compliance documentation accurately. Demonstrated customer service skills to create a positive experience for test-takers while maintaining strict safety standards. Effective communication skills for explaining procedures, providing feedback, and collaborating with team members. Experience working with adult learners or in adult education settings enhances your ability to connect with a broad range of applicants. Familiarity with classroom or training environments related to driver education or similar fields is advantageous. Pay:
$65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Flexible schedule Application Question(s): Do you agree to take a free 4 day training course at the Michigan Dept. of Transportation (Lansing, MI)? Will you be able to conduct at least 25+ road tests per week ( each test is 45 minutes)?
