This is a full-time, fully on-site position (five days per week). This role is ideal for someone who enjoys administrative and file-intensive work, thrives in a fast-paced legal environment, and takes pride in accuracy and organization. The Case Assistant will play a critical role in supporting attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants through effective document management and coordination.
Key Responsibilities Document Management & Organization:
Retrieve, review, download, and organize documents from platforms such as iServe and other court record systems. Ensure all materials are properly saved and maintained within iManage and other firm systems.
File Maintenance:
Maintain and organize both electronic and physical case files to ensure accuracy, security, and ease of access.
Document Processing & Distribution:
Coordinate with legal assistants and other team members to process incoming materials such as depositions, medical records, and case-related documents. Review and incorporate materials into daily mail sheets and distribute promptly to appropriate team members.
Spreadsheet & Reporting Support:
Create and maintain spreadsheets to track and summarize case-related data for attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants.
Court Filings:
Assist with electronic and manual filings in state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.
Scheduling & Coordination:
Supports scheduling of meetings, depositions, and court appearances, and communicate updates to all relevant parties.
Correspondence:
Draft and distribute routine correspondence to clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
Research Support:
Conduct basic legal and factual research using court databases and other resources.
Team Collaboration:
Provide general administrative and case-related support to attorneys and paralegals, contributing to the efficient progression of matters. Qualifications Prior experience as a Case Assistant, File Clerk, or in a similar administrative role preferred; legal environment experience is a plus Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail Ability to manage high-volume, file-intensive work with accuracy Familiarity with document management systems (e.g.,iManage) and court filing systems is preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel for tracking and reporting) Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment What We Offer At Tucker Ellis, we are committed to supporting our employees with a comprehensive and competitive benefits package: Day 1
