Job Description
T own of East Hampton - Part Time Office Assistant - Ordinance Enforcement Department This position is 20 hours per week, year-round. An employee in this position is responsible for supporting office operations and must demonstrate a high level of customer service and professionalism when dealing with members of the community and other employees.
Duties include:
Answering phones, emails, filing and faxing. Entering data and scanning/creating and controlling all files. Entering, filing and recording Code reports and form. Communicating information toOrdinance Inspectors, Code Enforcement Officers and Animal Control Officers Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics:
Some knowledge of office terminology, procedures, equipment and clerical techniques; some knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic; skill in typing accurately; ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions; ability to learn assigned tasks and to adhere to prescribed departmental routines; ability to make arithmetical computations and tabulations accurately and with a reasonable rate of speed; ability to establish effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. Qualifications The minimum qualifications are graduation from a standard senior high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma. Special Requirements Candidates must complete a civil service application for submission to and review by the Suffolk County Department of Human Resources, Personnel and Civil Service.
