DESCRIPTION
BENEFITS QUESTIONS Job Summary Under immediate supervision, is responsible for accurately and efficiently performing a variety of clerical and/or technical duties, in support of Municipal Court. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment. Exercises no supervision. Work Location San Antonio Municipal Court

  • Friday Essential Job Functions Reviews documents presented to the court for authenticity, accuracy and appropriate judicial action.
Calculates, collects and processes fines, fees and court costs, based on judicial orders, for misdemeanor violations related to state laws and city ordinances. Assists with research and interpretation of judicial orders. May prepare court dockets, including notifying parties regarding court dates, issue summons, subpoenas and hearing notices. Provides effective communication (oral and written) regarding court matters, to the general public, attorneys, police and other agencies. Processes administrative dismissals for customers based on standing orders issued by the Presiding Judge. Researches, prepares, corrects and transmits records and reports to state and outside agencies, including the Texas Department of Public Safety, Office of Court Administration and OmniBase of Texas. Updates case files in the Court's case management system as contact is made with customers, judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, witnesses and others. Assists judge in courtroom, monitors and attends to juror needs, and coordinates courtroom activity (including maintaining order). Monitors cases for compliance, processes cases in accordance with legal requirements, and prepares documentation for judges and prosecutors, including warrant of arrest. Compiles data/information, and tracks and monitors for performance measures and/or reports. Directs and/or escorts the public to courtrooms and other court supported activities. Processes mail and internet requests for adjudication. Creates cases in case management system and scans any relevant information into file.
