General Public - G Additional Detail Job Duties The Clerk of Court is the chief administrative officer for the court and is responsible for the management and application of court resources. Position includes authority over service to the public, financial performance, staffing, budgets, and case processing systems. Clerk monitors procedures to provide high-quality customer service, comply with the law, and meet the needs of the court and criminal justice agencies. Essential Duties & Responsibilities The Clerk is responsible for financial management, staffing, budget development, efficient caseload processing, and courteous service to the public. In addition to supervisory and administrative responsibilities, the clerk is also an integral part of the workforce in case processing and all other tasks connected with the functioning of the office in order to provide timely public service. Clerk monitors procedures to provide high-quality customer service, comply with law, and meet needs of court, judges and criminal justice agencies and partners. Minimum Qualifications The most competitive candidates will possess: A high school diploma is required; a college degree or experience in the court system is preferred. Experience at the supervisory or management level in a court, business, or office setting is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge and skills in public relations, human resources, recruitment, management, training and evaluation, computerized case management and word processing, and regulatory and statutory compliance are preferred. The successful candidate will have demonstrated competence in areas of responsibility listed above as well as automated financial and records management systems, personal computers, and software applications. Demonstrated knowledge and skills in public relations, human resources, recruitment, management, customer service, good communication skills, training and evaluation, computerized case management and word processing, and regulatory and statutory compliance preferred. Physical Demands and Work Environment Work is primarily performed in an office and courtroom setting. Duties require the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and operate standard office equipment. The employee may be required to lift or carry items weighing up to approximately 10 pounds.
