The Hoy Center at Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay takes a holistic approach to skilled nursing care and aging. Our person-centric living aligns the delivery of care with individual needs and preferences. The Hoy features home-like, comfortable settings, which we call Lighthouses, each with a family room and e-concept kitchen. These modern and open private rooms are comfortable, well-appointed and tastefully designed. The Lighthouses include the Rose Island, Mission Point, Point Lookout, Cape Henry and Point Roberts. Residents on each floor enjoy breathtaking views and refreshing ocean breezes on three spacious and striking outdoor terraces, we call Observation Decks. The Fletcher Prayer Room, which provides a dedicated, peaceful sanctuary for contemplation and prayer is also available to our residents. Skilled Nursing/Memory Care/Rehabilitation To learn more: https://www.wcbay.com/services/skilled-nursing/ The Unit Clerk responsibilities include performing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks involving the preparation, maintenance and processing of resident, unit and nursing records related data. Collaborate with healthcare team members to support daily clinical operations, including administrative coordination, communication, and documentation tasks such as processing patient paperwork and managing basic office functions. The Unit Clerk must create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, and a positive, and calm environment. Courteously receive guests, visitors and residents to the unit. What You'll Do In This Role Review and maintain resident charts for accuracy, transcribe physician orders and vital signs into records, prepare census data, and assist with compiling quality assurance reports as needed Prepare, process, and maintain resident and unit records, including admissions, treatments, transfers, discharges, and census data. Prepare charts for new residents and disassemble charts upon residents' discharge. Check Electronic Health Records (EHR) on a daily basis to assure documentation is complete and in place. Report any incomplete documentation to the the leadership. Prepare requisitions for prescribed diets, treatments, therapies, equipment, and diagnostic tests. Answer resident calls and promptly relay messages to appropriate personnel. Assist with resident's care as assigned by a nurse when needed. Monitor hazardous waste compliance by coordinating pickups, maintaining supplies, setting up containers, and reporting issues to the Team Leader. Make appointments with hospitals and MD offices and arrange for transportation. Escort residents to other departments. Implement and maintain laundry services as scheduled. Order unit supplies and scan residents' use of supplies on a daily basis. Maintain an accurate list of resident assistive devices. Receive and distribute mail, packages, flowers and personal items delivered to the unit. Complete all mandatory compliance, in-services and training as required. Assist as the CNA as assigned. All other duties as assigned. Core Competencies Strong communication skills, including verbal and written. Able to effectively multi-task Physical Requirements Ability to climb stairs, stand or walk for extended periods. Must be able to lift up to 25lbs. The Experience You'll Bring Required Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program with current certification, or willingness to obtain certification within 120 days of hire. Must be able to perform all CNA duties. Active CPR certification Experience with medical equipment, patient charts, medical terminology, and documentation standards. Familiarity with Microsoft applications and Google, and knowledge in EMRs. Flu-Vaccinated Preferred Experience working with an elderly populationCompensation & Benefits Compensation Range:
