  • Part Time Washington County, located in West Bend, Wisconsin has an excellent opportunity for a County Clerk Assistant within our County Clerk Department. Hours will be 11:00 am

Disabilities Position Summary:
Under the routine supervision of the Chief Deputy County Clerk and County Clerk, responsible for providing clerical support functions for a program, or programs, within the Department.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
  • Reconciles and deposits cash from previous day's transactions.
  • Updates and prepares in-house telephone book.
  • Updates and prepares county directory.
  • Takes minutes and prepares and distributes agenda and minutes for all Committees assigned by the Supervisor if needed.
  • Prepares marriage license applications, processes passport applications, and takes passport photos.
  • Directs callers and assists walk in visitors.
  • Provides switchboard relief.
  • Screens phone calls and refers callers, as appropriate.
  • Handles estate claims and bankruptcy notices.
  • Makes copies of documents and distributes as appropriate.
  • Maintains files, and files documents appropriately.
  • Schedules meetings on computer calendar
  • Mail Room backup.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Work Direction Received:
  • Works under the routine supervision of the County Clerk and Chief Deputy County Clerk.
Supervision Exercised:
None.
Decision Making:
Decisions concerning work priorities and other daily activities are made independently.
Interaction:
There is interaction with other County Departments, the public, and others outside of the organization.
Essential Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of general office practices and procedures, business English and spelling, departmental policies and procedures, specific departmental responsibilities. Ability to type documents accurately, process documents appropriately, and interact effectively with co workers. Able to fulfill physical demands of job, sensory demands (seeing and hearing) and cognitive demands (concentration, conceptualization, memorization).
Training and Experience:
