Job Description
Business Office Manager 26660 Patrick Avenue, Hayward, CA 94544 From $30 an hour
- Full-time From $30 an hour
- Full-time Essential Duties
- Accounts Receivable
- Completes daily census worksheet and tracks census for accuracy. Reconcile census worksheets and accounts receivable system census reports. Reconcile to 24-hour nursing report. Adjust accounts receivable and statistical reports as necessary to maintain accurate census records.
- Attend stand-up meetings, PDPM and care plans.
- Review admissions for accuracy of payer information, available coverage, secondary payers and qualifying hospital stays.
- Assist with managing resident trust funds, including printing and distributing monthly statements.
- Assist with Medi-Cal or Medicaid applications.
- Prepare TARS as needed.
- Obtain managed care and Medi-Cal or Medicaid authorizations including bed holds.
- Timely posting of all payments to resident ledgers
- Track Medi-Cal and Medicaid redeterminations.
- Participate in billing and payment processes including preparing bank deposits.
- Undertake collection activity for bad debts.
- Answers telephone inquiries and routine correspondence concerning amount of patient account balances.
- Send out monthly statements timely.
- As this job description is not intended to be all-inclusive, the employee will be expected to perform other duties as assigned.
- Complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment. Essential Duties
- Accounts Payable
- Monitor opening of mail to ensure invoices get to proper department heads for coding.
- Verification that all valid invoices are entered into the accounts payable system in a timely manner and in the proper periods.
- Obtain W-9 information from all service providers as required by law.
- Communicate with suppliers/vendors concerning questions about invoices, payment dates. Qualifications
- 1-2 years' experience in Skilled Nursing Facility billing.
- Strong Medicare/HMO billing experience
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing practices, procedures, terminology, laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of skilled nursing billing and payment as well as proficient in Microsoft products computer skills.
- Preferable one-year experience in a long-term care facility.
- Language Skills
- Ability to read technical procedures.
- Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
- Mathematical Skills
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred.
