Join our dynamic healthcare administrative team as a Business Office Manager Assistant! This vital role combines administrative excellence with medical billing and coding expertise to ensure smooth operations within a busy medical office. You'll be the backbone of daily office functions, supporting billing processes, managing medical records, and assisting with patient and provider communications. Duties Assist with medical billing processes, including coding with DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes to ensure accurate reimbursement. Support the medical office team by managing electronic health record (EHR) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems for data entry, updates, and retrieval of patient information. Help maintain organized medical records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and proper documentation standards. Collaborate with billing departments to follow up on unpaid claims and facilitate collections through effective communication. Provide administrative support by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling correspondence related to medical records and billing inquiries. Assist in verifying insurance information, processing claims, and ensuring accurate coding for all procedures using ICD coding systems. Support the team with general office duties such as filing, data entry, and maintaining supplies to keep the office running efficiently. Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding (DRG, CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), and medical billing procedures. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for efficient management of patient records. Familiarity with medical collection processes and insurance claim follow-up. Ability to interpret and apply ICD coding standards accurately in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in handling medical records and billing documentation. Effective communication skills for liaising between patients, providers, insurance companies, and internal teams. Prior experience in a medical office setting is preferred to ensure smooth onboarding and immediate contribution.
