At Medra, our mission is to use AI, robotics, and biology to accelerate life science research, with the ultimate goal of eradicating disease. We have been quietly building the foundational layers of our Physical AI Scientist platform: Physical AI that can operate scientific instruments with human-level dexterity. Scientific AI that can analyze results, reason about next steps, and close the loop autonomously. This is an incredibly ambitious mission, but we believe that a team of ambitious people with high ownership can accomplish incredible things.The Team:
We're a team of passionate, mission-driven engineers and scientists from companies like Tesla, Amazon, SpaceX, and Neuralink. We're collaborative and love moving fast, both with our product and on team trips skiing or go-karting! As a team, we love nerding out about engineering and robotics — plus other topics like race cars or cooking. We like learning new things and then sharing our new knowledge with each other. Our team is opinionated and straightforward. We don't mind intense discussions about design tradeoffs. If we have arguments or miscommunication, we resolve conflicts quickly and empathetically.The Role:
We're looking for a highly organized, scrappy, and people-focused Office Manager to own the day-to-day operations of our San Francisco office. This person will be the backbone of the workplace experience: keeping the office running smoothly, supporting employees onsite, coordinating vendors and facilities, managing meals and snacks, and helping bring a new space to life as the company grows. This person will play a critical role in shaping the employee experience and helping our office scale thoughtfully as we grow. We're looking for someone who can bring order, energy, and ownership to the workplace and create an environment where the team can do their best work.In This Role, You Will:
Own daily office operations for our San Francisco office Partner with a designer to help set up and operationalize a new office space Manage facilities-related needs, including maintenance requests, office upkeep, and landlord coordination Serve as the main point of contact for building issues such as HVAC, access, repairs, and other workplace needs Manage vendor relationships across office services, supplies, meals, maintenance, and related partners Coordinate employee onboarding logistics, including workspace readiness, access setup, and general day-one experience Support basic IT and workplace technology coordination, including office devices, access systems, and troubleshooting with external partners as needed Administer office systems and tools such as badge access and Ring Oversee meal ordering, snack programs, and kitchen stocking Handle mail, deliveries, and package receiving Open doors for visitors, deliveries, and service providers as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming office environment Anticipate operational gaps and solve problems quickly with minimal directionLet's Talk If You Have:
Experience in an Office Manager or similar workplace/office operations role Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and keep things moving in a high-velocity environment Highly autonomous and resourceful; able to identify what needs to happen and make it happen Strong project management instincts and follow-through Comfortable being hands-on with day-to-day office needs Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills Positive, service-oriented mindset with a willingness to jump in wherever needed Handy, practical, and scrappy approach to problem-solving (OPTIONAL)Bonus Points If You Have:
