Church Office Administrator & Social Media Manager Messiah Lutheran Church - 4.1 Longmont, CO Job Details Part-time $25 - $30 an hour 10 hours ago Qualifications Microsoft Excel Office activity coordination Computer literacy Administrative experience Organizational skills Clerical experience Full Job Description Role Summary We are looking for a reliable, welcoming, organized, and motivated Church Office Administrator & Communications Coordinator who is an active Christian and desires to support the mission and ministry of the church through dependable service, thoughtful communication, and a warm presence. This role combines front office administration, ministry support, scheduling, communications, social media, and basic financial recordkeeping. The right person will be friendly, detail-oriented, tech-savvy, trustworthy, and comfortable switching between office tasks, church communications, and creative projects. This person will help create a warm and professional first impression for church members, visitors, volunteers, and community guests while also supporting pastors, staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers with the administrative and communication needs of the church. Duties Include Answering church phones and emails in a warm, helpful, and professional manner Greeting church members, visitors, volunteers, and community guests Managing the front office and helping maintain an organized, welcoming environment Scheduling appointments, meetings, events, facility use, and maintaining church calendars Preparing bulletins, newsletters, announcements, letters, flyers, slides, and other printed or digital materials Keeping church documents, forms, member information, office files, and records organized Entering and maintaining information accurately using office software and church systems Ordering supplies and helping maintain office systems, equipment, and filing processes Supporting pastors, staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers with administrative needs Proofreading documents, announcements, and communications before publication Assisting with basic financial records, invoices, reimbursements, donations, offerings, expense tracking, or giving-related documentation as needed Using QuickBooks, Stripe, or similar tools to assist with accurate recordkeeping as needed Creating social media posts and promotional content for church services, events, ministries, and outreach Managing or assisting with Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, the church website, email announcements, and other digital platforms Taking photos, creating reels, and sharing church updates when appropriate Helping with newsletters, website updates, email campaigns, and other church communication efforts Supporting special church events, seasonal services, volunteer coordination, and ministry projects as needed Following up on communication and administrative requests from church leadership in a timely manner Maintaining confidentiality and representing the church in a warm, respectful, and professional manner Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: An active Christian faith and a desire to support the mission and ministry of the church Previous clerical, administrative, office management, or church office experience Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal A friendly, welcoming, and professional presence with members, visitors, volunteers, and staff Strong computer literacy and confidence learning new software systems Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Experience with data entry, calendar management, email communication, and digital recordkeeping Familiarity with QuickBooks, Stripe, or similar bookkeeping and payment-processing tools preferred Experience with newsletters, social media, website updates, email campaigns, or digital communication preferred Comfort using or learning platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, church websites, and email communication tools Good typing skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks within time constraints Knowledge of phone systems, office equipment, filing systems, and customer service best practices Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism A willingness to support the mission and ministry of the church through dependable administration and thoughtful communication
