Job Description

Responsible for supervising and working with the Front Office staff to ensure the highest quality of guest service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following: Ensures that all front office associates receive training adequate for the performance of the position. Provides feedback on a continual basis. Participate in the training, developing and disciplining of all front office staff. Maintains records of absences and tardiness. Performs all front office duties including check-in, check-out, reservations, etc. Maintains a high daily average rate (ADR). Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services. Ensures that all required reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner. Ensures guest satisfaction by responding to and resolving guest complaints. Is aware of direct competition. Fills in at the front desk when staffing needs and hotel needs dictate. Maintains regular contact with the Housekeeping Department to ensure proper room status. Must wear required uniform. Must maintain a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance. Ensures that staff is in adherence to uniform/grooming standards at all times. Ensures that all guests are served. Performs other duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLIITIES
Supervises a total of 5 to 10 employees in the front office department. Is responsible for direction, coordination and the execution of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience. In-depth knowledge of Front Office and Reservations System procedures.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
TRAINING NEEDS
Training in providing quality guest service, telephone etiquette skills, management skills training, training in sales, forecasting, and budgeting.
