This position serves as a working leader within the Front Office Department, helping ensure daily operations run smoothly while providing support, coaching, and guidance to the front desk team. The Front Office Supervisor is often the first point of support for team members and the first level of escalation for guest concerns. This role plays an important part in creating exceptional guest experiences, maintaining operational standards, and supporting the development of future hospitality professionals. The ideal candidate leads by example, remains calm under pressure, communicates effectively, and understands that great leadership begins with service. What You'll Do Lead Daily Front Desk Operations Support the daily operation of the front desk Assist with guest check-in and check-out procedures Monitor lobby activity and guest flow throughout the shift Ensure front desk standards and procedures are followed consistently Support room inventory management and operational communication Help ensure smooth shift transitions and effective communication between teams Deliver Exceptional Guest Service Provide a welcoming and professional experience for every guest Respond to guest concerns and service recovery situations Assist with resolving operational challenges during the shift Escalate significant issues to management when appropriate Create positive guest interactions that support guest loyalty and satisfaction Coach and Support Team Members Provide real-time coaching and guidance during shifts Reinforce front desk procedures and service standards Support onboarding and training of new team members Encourage accountability and professionalism Assist with role-playing and service development initiatives Help create a positive and supportive team culture Support Operational Excellence Assist with daily reports and operational documentation Monitor room status communication between departments Support group arrivals and departures Assist with billing questions and guest account concerns Ensure important information is communicated accurately and promptly Leadership Support Serve as a resource for front desk team members Support the Front Office Operations Manager with department initiatives Assist with maintaining department organization and accountability Help identify opportunities for improvement and operational efficiency Promote teamwork and collaboration throughout the hotel What We're Looking For Minimum 1 year of hotel front desk experience required Previous leadership, trainer, lead agent, or supervisory experience preferred Strong customer service and communication skills Experience handling guest concerns and service recovery situations Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Ability to lead by example and motivate others Experience with Opera Cloud PMS preferred Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Positive attitude and commitment to hospitality What Success Looks Like Success in this role means: Front desk shifts run smoothly and efficiently Guests receive prompt, professional, and friendly service Team members understand expectations and receive support when needed Guest concerns are addressed quickly and appropriately Communication between departments remains strong New team members receive effective training and support The front desk team operates with consistency and accountability Why Join Travelodge Downtown Chicago?
