The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently.
Salary :
$80K - $85K, based on experience Requirements - Working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise.
- Full-charge bookkeeping experience with strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the general ledger.
- Knowledge of the commercial construction industry, including progress invoicing using AIA Form G702.
- Ability to work with general contractors and vendors on billing and invoicing, including collecting W-9 forms and certificates of insurance from subcontractors.
- Understanding of commercial construction contracts, including compensation terms, financial obligations, and retainage requirements.
- Payroll experience, including compiling weekly employee hours, submitting payroll through an online service, and maintaining confidential employee files and tax forms.
- Ability to file and pay monthly sales tax online, prepare annual 1099 forms, and manage vendor tax forms such as ST-4 and ST-12.
- Experience performing monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts.
- Ability to record credit card charges and reconcile statements each month.
- Experience managing accounts payable, including reporting, check runs, and vendor relationships.
- Ability to prepare year-end financial documents for audit and tax preparation by the company's off-site CPA.
Skills and Proficiencies Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat/PDF tools. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with individuals at all levels of the industry. Education Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field preferred, or 8-10 years of full-time experience in a similar role. Notary Public, or ability to become one a plus.
