ShowSpan produces 15 "must attend" events annually and is one of the nation's largest independent producers of public consumer shows for over 80 years. Our purpose is to connect communities, people and passions by producing premiere consumer shows. Retailers and their suppliers use our shows to greet consumers who are anxious to see and buy the finest products and services at these community events. We believe there is no greater way to build relationships than face to face (and frankly we think events are fun)!
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Show Manager with event and project management, vendor communication, sales and prioritizing tasks. Perform various administrative tasks such as processing exhibitor contracts and preshow information, and coordinating with company counterparts to maintain consistency in processes across shows. Motivate, manage and resolve conflicts independently on a regular basis, especially during a show. Management of temporary staff and subcontracted services Initiate communication with individuals both inside and outside the organization through emails, phone calls, and other forms of communication Manage exhibitor accounts receivable and provide weekly sales reporting Set up and manage show office and exhibitor lounge to include spending, hourly staffing, meals and supplies; work with box office to report numbers. QUALIFICATIONS and/or
EXPERIENCE
Previous professional experience in event management, customer service, hospitality, and experience with computer software is advantageous. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and OneDrive; Experience working with CRM is a plus; Comfortable learning new software and working with various technology tools.
Physical Stamina:
requires moderate physical exertion, including bending, kneeling, stooping and standing; some lifting and moving of heavy objects (up to 50 lbs). During show season, employees will be exposed to moderate pressure and fatigue Ability to work independently on tasks, collaborate with a team, manage deadlines and be confident under pressure. Strong organizational and leadership skills and be detail oriented to manage tasks across shows and specific to show needs. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to travel, work nights, weekends and extended hours as needed, and multiple days in a row during show season: April-December (Know Season): M-F 8am-5pm Jan- March (Show Season): extended hours/multiple days in a row as required; onsite for full run of events
