Job Description

We are a well-established hospice company looking to add to our growing team!! Regional Hospice has 3 offices covering the southwest corner of Missouri with offices in Joplin, Springfield, and Lebanon We are currently looking for an experienced Business Office Manager to work as part of our hospice interdisciplinary team in our Joplin, MO office. The Business Office Manager (BOM) works with the Interdisciplinary Team made up of RNs, LPNs, CNAs, Social Workers, Chaplains, Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Bereavement Staff, Volunteers. Primary hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
JOB DUTIES
General office work, answering the phone, filing, faxing, making copies, ordering office supplies. Maintaining patient charts, obtaining doctor's signatures within mandated time frames, entering patient demographics and referral information into the computer, verifying Medicare/Medicaid/insurance benefits. Monitoring staff hours worked and assisting with payroll, maintaining employee files, assisting with new hire paperwork and background checks. Typing contracts, forms, and memos for the Administrator/Site Manager as needed. Communicating with families, patients, physicians, facility staff, vendors, and other professionals by making phone calls as requested by team members. Daily/weekly/monthly reports regarding census, admissions, discharges, etc. Participating in quality assurance meetings, monitoring data on number of admissions per month, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School graduate, good organizational skills, computer skills, professional presentation to public and staff. Knowledge of some medical terminology helpful but not required. Willing to train the right person. Good customer service and phone etiquette a must. Must be flexible and able to multi-task to work in a busy hospice office. Must be able to work as a team player and represent our company well in the community. Hourly rate, benefits for full time, PTO.
