Job Description

JOB The
STARBASE
Office Manager is responsible for organizing, maintaining, and coordinating office operations and procedures that provide organizational effectiveness and efficiency. This position manages Department of Defense (DoD) school data, records, correspondences, inspection files, as well as handling a variety of administrative support tasks.
NOTE:
The
STARBASE
Program is funded by the Department of Defense. Annual appointments are subject to annual reauthorization of federal funds. Continued appointments are contingent upon the availability of funding.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Assists in the overall day-to-day duties as assigned by the Program Director Prepares and modifies classroom files Coordinates the scheduling of classrooms and maintains modifications to schedule, promptly notifying staff as changes occur Maintains the student database including but not limited to changes/corrections, certificates, attendance lists, class lists, etc. Inputs and maintains data for student, teacher, and parental assessments Coordinates with schools for required documentation including, but not limited to, applications, enrollment forms, data collection, and schedule changes Receives and distributes mail Maintains and orders all supplies and equipment as approved by the Program Director Prepares outgoing deliveries and accepts incoming deliveries; processes and stocks incoming deliveries, ensuring correct items and quantities Coordinates with appropriate personnel for repairs or maintenance issues that require immediate attention Assists instructional set-up and clean-up as needed Assists with classroom instruction as needed

Programs Federal and state legislative procedures and general governmental operations College policies and procedures Principles, procedures, and practices of data collection and analysis Skills Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills Strong computer skills and technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Abilities Work independently and prioritize multiple work assignments, meeting deadlines and adapting to changing priorities Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form Ability to prepare and maintain required reports and records Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work Handle confidential information with absolute discretion Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse workforce, including those with different levels of academic preparation, varying physical and learning abilities, and socioeconomic levels
