We're looking for an organized and experienced professional with a background in assisted living or the medical industry. You'll manage billing, accounts receivable, and office operations, ensuring smooth financial processes in a dynamic, resident-focused environment. If you have the experience and a passion for efficiency, we want you on our team!
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of the business office for three communities Harmony House, Lawndale Manor and Comfort Cove, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general office duties. Ensure accurate and timely processing of resident billing, including insurance claims, private pay, and Medicaid billing. Coordinate with third-party billing companies and insurance providers to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure timely reimbursement. Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records for both facilities in compliance with federal and state regulations. Monitor resident accounts, prepare monthly statements, and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely payments. Assist with monthly financial reporting and budgeting, working closely with the Executive Director and Finance team. Assist with audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with all financial and regulatory requirements. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff regarding billing inquiries and issues. Participate in facility meetings and assist with any administrative duties as required. Required Experience Minimum 3-5 years of business office experience in a North Carolina Assisted Living Direct experience with North Carolina Medicaid PCS (Personal Care Services) billing and authorization processes Experience managing North Carolina Special Assistance (SA) and Special Assistance In-Home (SA/IH) resident accounts Knowledge of Social Security income verification, SSI, SSDI, and representative payee processes Experience with Medicaid pending cases and county DSS follow-up Strong collections experience involving: Familiarity with FL-2 forms and Adult Care Home eligibility requirements Experience reconciling resident trust funds and personal needs allowance accounts Knowledge of North Carolina Special Assistance income limits and reimbursement structure Ability to communicate with county DSS offices, Social Security Administration, guardians, and payees Experience reducing aging accounts receivable and improving collections performance Proficiency with healthcare billing software and Microsoft Excel4
Preferred Knowledge Understanding of:
PCS assessments and authorization requirements Medicaid eligibility redeterminations Social Security benefit changes and overpayment issues Adult Care Home reimbursement regulations in North Carolina Experience working with dementia or Special Care Unit reimbursement programs
