Job Description:
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) is seeking a mission-driven leader who will be instrumental in leading transformational reentry efforts that change lives, strengthen families, and improve communities across Nebraska. As a Reentry Services Manager, you will guide innovative reentry efforts that help incarcerated individuals successfully transition to productive community life. In this role, you will oversee a team working to remove barriers, strengthen community connections, and improve reintegration outcomes through effective reentry services. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who develops teams, builds partnerships, solves complex challenges, and drives continuous improvement. DUTIES:
Ensure consistent, high-quality reentry service delivery aligned with departmental goals, evidence-based practices, and participant success outcomes. Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop Reentry Specialists and Reentry Case Managers to achieve high performance and professional growth. Oversee reentry planning services to ensure individuals receive timely, individualized, and effective transition support. Strengthen partnerships that expand participant access to housing, employment, healthcare, behavioral health services, family support, and community stabilization resources. Use data to identify trends, evaluate program effectiveness, drive continuous improvement, and inform leadership decision-making. Requirements /
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in criminal justice, behavioral sciences, human services or a related field and one year of corrections experience, including supervisory experience; OR associate's degree in criminal justice, behavioral sciences, human services or related field and three years of corrections experience, including supervisory experience; OR five years of corrections experience, including supervisory experience, including supervisory experience.
Legal Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age. No felony or domestic abuse related convictions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Leadership experience supervising multidisciplinary teams in corrections, reentry, behavioral health, human services, community supervision, workforce development, case management, or related fields Knowledge of evidence-based reentry practices, desistance theory, criminogenic risk/needs principles, motivational interviewing, or case planning frameworks Experience working with justice-involved populations, returning citizens, or complex/high-needs adult populations Experience using performance metrics, quality assurance methods, or operational data to improve outcomes Project management, process improvement, or strategic implementation experience
