Manager of the Superintendent's Office Position Summary The Manager of the Superintendent's Office serves as the central operational leader for the Superintendent's Office, responsible for coordinating executive-level functions, managing high-priority initiatives, and ensuring alignment across departments. This role operates as the primary integrator of the Superintendent's priorities, supporting strategic planning, communications, governance processes, and cross-functional execution. The Manager ensures that the work of the Superintendent's Office reflects the district's mission, core values, and strategic priorities, including accelerating student achievement, strengthening organizational effectiveness, and maintaining fiscal responsibility. This position requires a high level of discretion, organizational leadership, and the ability to manage complex projects across multiple departments while maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Executive Operations & Office Leadership Manage the daily operations of the Superintendent's Office, ensuring efficiency, responsiveness, and alignment with district priorities Oversee executive scheduling, correspondence, and workflow systems to maximize the Superintendent's effectiveness Coordinate internal processes to ensure timely follow-through on directives, initiatives, and Board actions Serve as the primary liaison between the Superintendent and central office departments Strategic Planning & Initiative Management Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of district strategic priorities and Superintendent initiatives Track progress on key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring alignment to district goals such as student achievement, attendance, and operational effectiveness Coordinate cross-departmental projects, ensuring accountability, timelines, and deliverables are met Prepare briefing materials, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders Board Governance & Compliance Coordinate all aspects of Advisory Board engagement, including agenda development, briefing materials, and follow-up actions Ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, and regulations related to Board operations and district governance Support the preparation of resolutions, communications, and official records in alignment with state-operated district requirements Communications & Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with the communications team to develop and align messaging from the Superintendent's Office Draft and review correspondence, speeches, and public communications on behalf of the Superintendent Support engagement with families, community partners, and government stakeholders Ensure consistent messaging aligned to district priorities and initiatives Organizational Coordination & Systems Alignment Facilitate communication and coordination across departments to ensure coherence of district initiatives Support organizational restructuring efforts by aligning workflows, roles, and responsibilities Assist in the development of systems to improve efficiency, accountability, and transparency across central office functions Coordinate responses to urgent and emerging issues requiring executive-level attention Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement Support the Superintendent in monitoring district performance using data dashboards and reports Analyze data to inform decision-making and identify trends, risks, and opportunities Ensure timely reporting aligned to NJDOE expectations and district accountability systems Promote a culture of continuous improvement aligned to district goals and performance expectations Special Projects & Executive Support Lead and manage special projects as assigned by the Superintendent Coordinate interdepartmental initiatives requiring executive oversight Provide high-level logistical and operational support for district-wide events, meetings, and initiatives Serve as a key problem-solver for complex organizational challengesQualifications Education:
Master's degree in Public Administration, Education, Communications, Business Administration, or related field requiredExperience:
Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in executive support, administration, or organizational leadership Experience in a school district, government agency, or large organization preferred Demonstrated experience managing complex projects and cross-functional teams Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality at all times Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across departments Knowledge of school district operations, governance, and compliance preferred High level of proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and office systemsPhysical Demands:

Non-Affiliated Administrator Minimum Starting Salary - $90,000 Maximum Starting Salary - $115,000 Residency Requirement Under New Jersey's "New Jersey First Act" (N.J.S.A. 52:14-7), all employees of New Jersey public school districts must maintain bona fide New Jersey residency as a condition of employment. Candidates must already reside in New Jersey or establish residency within the required timeframe after hire. Current employees who were hired on or before September 1, 2011 are exempt from this requirement and may continue to reside outside the state.
