About Us We are a growing Non-Emergency Medical Transportation company serving communities throughout New Mexico. Our team provides safe, reliable, and professional transportation for clients who depend on us to get to medical appointments, treatments, and other essential healthcare services. We are looking for a dependable and highly organized Assistant Operations Manager to support daily business operations across multiple areas of the company. This is a hands-on office and leadership role for someone who is detail-oriented, professional, and comfortable managing a wide variety of responsibilities. Position Summary The Assistant Operations Manager will work closely with company leadership to help manage administrative, operational, compliance, accounting, purchasing, contracting, and fleet-related tasks. Job duties may vary from day to day and will involve supporting all aspects of the business. Direct transportation or NEMT experience is not required. However, strong office skills, leadership ability, organization, communication, and follow-through are required. Key Responsibilities Assist with daily business operations and administrative tasks. Support accounting-related duties, including invoices, receipts, billing records, expense tracking, and vendor payments. Help maintain compliance records for drivers, vehicles, contracts, and company requirements. Track vehicle maintenance records, service schedules, inspections, registrations, insurance documents, and repair history. Assist with purchasing supplies, equipment, office materials, vehicle-related items, and other business needs. Communicate with vendors, contractors, service providers, and business partners. Help organize and maintain contracts, agreements, files, and company documentation. Assist with onboarding, employee records, training documentation, and general HR-related paperwork. Support management with scheduling, reporting, audits, and follow-up tasks. Help enforce company policies, procedures, deadlines, and documentation standards. Monitor office workflow and help identify areas for improvement. Provide leadership and support to staff as needed. Handle general administrative duties such as email, phone calls, filing, spreadsheets, data entry, and recordkeeping. Take ownership of assigned projects and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time. Qualifications Direct NEMT or transportation experience is not required . Strong office, administrative, and organizational skills required. Prior experience in office management, operations, administration, accounting support, compliance, purchasing, or leadership preferred. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing daily needs. Strong communication and follow-up skills. Comfortable using computers, email, spreadsheets, and basic office software. Ability to maintain accurate records and handle confidential information professionally. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. Leadership skills and the ability to hold others accountable respectfully. Valid driver's license preferred. Must be dependable, professional, detail-oriented, and willing to learn. Preferred But Not Required Experience in office management or assistant management. Experience with accounting support, billing, invoicing, or expense tracking. Experience maintaining compliance records or employee files. Experience working with vendors, contracts, or purchasing. Experience in healthcare, transportation, logistics, or service-based businesses. Supervisory or team lead experience. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment. You do not need direct transportation experience, but you should be confident managing records, deadlines, people, vendors, and follow-up tasks. This role is best suited for someone who takes initiative, learns quickly, and is willing to help wherever needed to keep the business running smoothly.
